fishing report

I haven't been doing much beach fishing lately. Partly due to the two foster kids my wife and I now have (since the 3rd week of November) but also because I've been focusing more on steelhead than the saltwater.
But I've been keeping the pulse on the saltwater bite and I just couldn't stay away any longer, especially with reports from friends supposedly catching 10 and 20 fish a day!

Yeah, that is frozen saltwater!

Gary, Sam, and I hit Puget Sound around 3pm and it was a brisk 34 degrees outside. It might have been a couple degrees warmer on the water, because the sun was out and it felt good! When the sun dropped behind the trees an hour later the temperature dropped at least 6 or 8 degrees and it got really cold. We called it a day at 4:45pm. That sure isn't long to fish. But between the three of us we had brought 14 resident coho and 1 cutthroat to hand, not to mention the dozens of fish hooked up and long distance released! Sam kept his limit and Gary and I each whacked one fish.

For a more detailed report and more pictures, check out Gary's report.
